Luanda — The Angolan national soccer squad defeated this Wednesday, Portimonense of Portugal's second League by 2-1, in a friendly match, ahead of the African Cup of Nations, scheduled for 20th January to 10th February, in Ghana.
In a game that took place at Browns sports complex, Algarve, the Angolan team were losing in half time by 0-1 (goal scored by Paulo Sérgio in 38 minutes), Manucho drew in the 52nd minute and Flávio Amado scored the winning goal in 59 minutes.
The Angolan coach, Oliveira Gonçalves, has lined up the following players: Lamá, Locô, Jamba, Kali, Yamba Asha, Zé Kalanga, Figueiredo, André Makanga and Gilberto, Manucho and Flávio Amado.
Rui Marques, Delgado, Mateus, Dedé, Edson, Mendonça and Marco Airosa also played in the warm-up match.
Before this game, the national team beat last Sunday Willen II of the Dutch first league by 1-0, with a goal netted by Manucho Gonçalves.
As part of their preparation for CAN of Ghana, the Angolan team were beaten in December 0-2 by Canaries Island.
Palancas Negras, the nickname of the national soccer squad, will test again next Sunday against Egypt in Alverca region, Portugal. They will play Morocco, in Rabat, on 16th January, in their last warm-up match.
In the African Nations Cup, Angola were drawn in group D with South Africa, Senegal and Tunisia.
