Tunis

The first week of Arab architecture is currently held in Tunis under the motto "architecture, the city and society", at the behest of the Council of the Order of Tunisian Architects (COAT), as well as that of Arab architects.

Some 500 Architects from 14 Arab countries will take part in the event which is being held in the Tunis Planetarium.

Discussions will revolve around the issue of the sprawling of Arab cities, and namely the environmental pollution resulting from this situation.

The event will also examine the attributes of Arab cities, the characteristics of their natural environment, the cause of their often unruly expansion and the appropriate solutions to remedy this state of affairs.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to those involved in the sector, to reflect on several issues such as the technical, scientific, and social aspects of architecture, as well as the modern aspects of Arab architecture and new technologies pertaining to the building sector.
