Harare — Four policemen manning a roadblock in Bulawayo were picked up in a dramatic fashion yesterday by plainclothes officers on suspicion of receiving bribes from motorists. One of the cops was

One of the cops was frisked and ordered to remove his shoes as the detectives searched for hidden money. Other detectives also conducted a search of the area, including drains for money that could have been stashed away. The policemen, with bibs inscribed Traffic Police, were stopping vehicles and issuing tickets mostly to commuter omnibus crews near the Cold Storage Company offices along Birkenhead Road in Belmont at about 9am yesterday.
