Angola: Culture Ministry Promotes Course On Theatre

Luanda — The Angolan Culture Ministry (Mincult) will hold a course in theatre, from January 15 to March 27, in Luanda's Liga Africana civic centre, in the ambit of a programme to promote this form of art in the country.

According to a source from Mincult, who has given the information to ANGOP, the event aims at, among other things, providing technical and scientific knowledge to agents linked to this area, with the aim of improving the quality of the product placed at the disposal of the public.

The source said the training is part of a programme that was presented on January 08, this year, in Namibe Province, during the main act in the celebrations of the National Culture Day, which will be implemented throughout the year 2008, countrywide.

On that occasion, the Culture minister said that the programme includes the reviving of cultural activities in the communities, through the launching of cultural centres, clubs and the creation of cultural associations.

The programme is called "Culture strengthens the Nation, more culture more Angola".

The referred course will be given by Brazillian specialists and is to be attended by cultural agents from all provinces of Angola.
