Political discussions and meetings between the people and its leadership, in addition to being a positive political driving force, is also an image of trust and accountability.
It is true that the continuous discussions and exchange of ideas being conducted between the people and its leadership is centered on sincerity and common national desire. The interviews that are being conducted on different occasions and the messages that are conveyed have a significant role in preserving the purity of our political approach and safeguarding our values in terms of keeping the momentum and the development of common understanding, identifying our short comings and seeking ways to improve them.
The political meetings and discussions that were conducted during the armed struggle for independence between the leadership, cadres and others and the information that was disseminated via the media and seminars have greatly contributed to the establishment of united and powerful organization. Even after independence, this modest meeting between the people and leadership, recognizing its importance, has been continuing in different forms. The live extensive interviews high level government and front officials regularly conduct through television and radio are good manifestations of transparency that is not heard of in many societies.
It is a political culture and we are proud to witness our leaders meeting face to face with their people, living inside the country and abroad, to conduct open discussions on relevant issues while providing direct responses to their inquires. The recent interview conducted with His Excellency President Isaias Afwerki on the Government of Eritrea's stance regarding different regional and international issues, the current situation and its prospects in our country and our region, and the pace of our development activities vis-à-vis the challenges and shortcomings facing us was a continuation of the unique political culture in the country. The implication of this in terms of its contribution in conserving our values and expressing our mutual desire could be measured by the number of feedbacks that are sent to the mass media.
Eritreans, wherever they are, have a common understanding and knowledge on the current situation of their country. The core root for this common understanding is not propaganda-oriented but based on the genuine and transparent meetings between the people and its leadership. It is also a blessing that cannot be found in many parts of the world.

The meetings between the people and its leadership, that have developed with our unique situation, has been an extra force in addition to the already existing Eritrean people's love for their country, and this is one of our extraordinary cultures and national values that should be preserved and flourish. It is with this culture that we are marching from success to success, by multiplying our limited capacity many folds to confront big internal and external challenges.
