Asmara — The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) and the General Sudanese Students Union (GSSU) signed a joint cooperation agreement on January 14.
The agreement comprises of ways to exert efforts to strengthen the political, economic and social ties between the people of the two countries; maintain a common stance and joint endeavors in regional and international issues; and to work jointly in the domains of information technology, among others.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Sultan Saeed, NUEYS Chairman, pointed out that relations between the two unions has reached a reliable stage. He stressed the significance of sharing a common understanding and conducting joint endeavors to challenge the prevailing situation in the region.
Likewise, the Chairman of the General Sudanese Students Union, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Sheik Idris, on his part lauded the role of NUEYS in the region and noted the significance of mutual visits to enhance bilateral relations.
It is to be noted that a delegation from the General Sudanese Students Union conducted a working visit in Asmara from January 13 to 16.
