Uganda: Mandela, Tushar At Villa

Kampala — SC Villa's administration got a New Year boost after former treasurer Omar Mandela and manager Tushar Ruparelia bounced back at Villa park.

The two financial heavyweights were reintroduced to the fans at Villa Park last week, and attended their first league match at Namboole on Friday when the Jogoos beat KCC 3-2.

Mandela, together with Ruparelia walked out of the club in 2003 due to football hooliganism among fans. "We had just rested, not deserted," Tushar said.

Club secretary Edward Luyimbazi Mugalu explained: "We realised the importance of those officials. We reminded them how the players and fans miss them."
