Foro — A potable water supply project is under implementation in the administrative areas of Zula and Aftan, in the Foro sub-zone, at a cost of 2.3 million Nakfa.
The project undertaken by the Gedem Construction Company involves the installation of 7km-long water pipelines from Foro to two administrative areas, as well as the construction of water distribution stations and two ponds.
Reports indicated that, previously, about 19km-long water pipelines were installed from Wia to Foro, in addition to the construction of 5 distribution stations. More than 5,000 people will become beneficiaries of clean water once the implementation of the project is finalized.
In addition, old pipelines have been replaced with new ones at a cost of 9 million Nakfa. Similar projects have also been implemented in Lahazien, Elumragien and Airomalen at an expenditure of about 1 million Nakfa.
