Angola: Construction of Train Stations, Substations At Final Stage

Luanda — The construction of three stations and eight substations along Bungo/Baia railway line, which started in mid 2007 is already at the final stage, informed to ANGOP Luanda Railway (CFL) project director, Paulo Cuanza.

In an interview to ANGOP, the official said that of the three stations, two are new, namely Musseques and Viana, while the one in Bungo is only benefiting from repair work.

Besides this, six substations are also being built along Bungo/Viana route.

The other two are located in Viana/Baia route, to serve the populations of Capalanga zone who live in the surroundings of Cabolongo/Cacuaco highway.

He referred that the main work of the infrastructures have already been concluded, with only the final touches left to be done (pavement, covering and painting).

The integral rehabilitation of Luanda Railway is amounted at USD 90 million and is to be finished in August this year.
