Eritrea: Anseba Regional Assembly Holds 7th Regular Meeting

The Anseba Regional Assembly held its 7th regular meeting in Keren from January 16 to 17. Department heads of the regional administration, heads of ministry branch offices, associations, commissions and other government institutions presented reports on work accomplishments at the meeting. The Assembly took note of the encouraging achievements in different development programs, including social services and infrastructure. It was also disclosed that the region's revenue has been raised by 40%.

Following discussion on the papers presented, the Regional Assembly meeting adopted resolutions and recommendations, including the stepping up of development programs, promoting educational opportunities and strengthening community activities, among others.

The Chairperson of the Assembly, Ms. Asha Mahmoud, called on all government institutions and the general public to back up the on-going efforts to achieve food security.

Also speaking in the meeting, the Administrator of Anseba region, Ms. Salma Hassan, reminded Assembly members to play active role in the implementation of development programs in the region and enhancing public participation in this domain.
