23 January 2008

Gerset — Over 8,000 repatriated nationals who are being rehabilitated in the Gerset administrative area are leading a better life thanks to their hard work and the Government's assistance, according to Mr. Beyene Gebremariam, in charge of managing administrative affairs in the area.

He pointed out that the Government has extended farm plots to the nationals and that they have obtained satisfactory harvest. Reports also indicated that the newly implemented potable water supply project and the opening of an elementary school have already begun rendering services. Moreover, the construction of a health center is nearing finalization.

It is to be noted that major development programs are being undertaken in the Gerset administrative area.
