Egypt/Côte d'Ivoire: Muhidin Tips Cote d'Ivoire and Pharaohs

Nairobi — Harambee Stars deputy coach Sheikh Twahir Muhidin believes Cote d'Ivoire and Egypt have what it takes to win the Africa Cup of Nations.

Other teams Muhidin has tipped to reach the final of the tournament are Ghana and Guinea, who he said played a highly technical game in the match the Black Stars eventually won 2-1.

According to Muhidin, Egypt's display against Cameroon was superb, adding that the defending champions outclassed the Indomitable Lions in all departments. Speaking to the Nation on Wednesday, Muhidin said the Pharaohs had a positive attitude and took the game to Cameroon right from the opening whistle.

The counter attack approach applied by Cameroon and Nigeria left a vacuum in the midfield, which their respective opponents took advantage of, he says. Muhidin said Ghana were under a lot of pressure in the opening match but could play a better game against Namibia on Thursday.

"It was evident that Ghana were under pressure throughout but someone needs to prepare the players psychologically," Muhidin said.
