Bujumbura — The court of Ruyigi ordered the release of the six persons whom the police arrested in connection with the killing of the French aid worker Agnès Bury. The prosecutor at the Court of Appeals of Gitega rejected the court's decision. He said that he will file an appeal with the Court of Appeals of Gitega.
Clavera Ntakarutimana is still being held. Ms Ntakarutimana, who works for Maison Shalom, is charged with killing of Agnès Bury and illegal possession of a firearm.
The magistrates of the court of Ruyigi attended the hearings at Gitega yesterday but issued the order for release today. The release of these six persons did not take place as expected since the chief of the prison obeyed the orders of the prosecutors rather than those of the court of Ruyigi.
