Koroma — Forum of Conscience (FoC) has started the Fambul Tok consultations in Moyamba and Kenema districts in the country.

Fambul Tok is a community led initiative of reconciliation using traditional methods.

The scheme is implemented by FoC and funded by Catalyst for Peace, a US based foundation, which supports traditional reconciliation progresses in post-conflict African societies.

The project is expected to reconcile over 160 communities nationwide within a three-year period.

On Saturday consultations were commissioned in Moyamba, Kayamba Chiefdom at St. Columbia's compound.

Traditional leaders, youths, women groups and religious leaders graced the ceremony.

Chairman of the programme, Jonathan Damba said he was disappointed at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), which according to him was unable to reconcile their communities.

He said Fambul Tok would foster peace, unity and reconciliation in the district.

Fambul Tok Project Officer, Marian Abu said the scheme was designed to reconcile victims and perpetrators after 11 years of political instability in the country.
