More than 4,000 manufacturing sector jobs may be lost in the first half of the year alone if the country fails to find a speedy settlement of the three week long political crisis, an industry audit says.
The audit by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) says the sector losses could rise to more than Sh21 billion in the next few months as a result of property destruction, inability of staff to work in certain areas of the country and paralysis of the distribution system.
