Assab

The Minister of Justice, Ms. Fawzia Hashim, stressed the significance of community magistrates in settling disputes without wasting time and money. She made the remarks at a meeting in Assab with department heads of the Southern Red Sea Regional Administration and members of the Regional Assembly, as well as area and sub-zonal administrators.

Ms. Fawzia explained that the community magistrates seek to administer fair and efficient justice on the basis of the responsibility bestowed on them through the special legal guidelines that authorizes them to pass decisions independently. She indicated that there are 683 such magistrates across the country and 36 in the Southern Red Sea region.

Moreover, the Minister underlined the importance of skilled manpower for efficient administration of justice and added that the number of professional legal experts in the country is increasing.
