Different agricultural activities including the construction of water catchments and leveling of farm plots have been carried out in She'ib sub-zone at an expense of about 2.5 million Nakfa. The task was undertaken through the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Education, RODDAB Construction Company and the farming community in the area.

In line with the efforts to achieve food security, construction and renovation of water diversion schemes, as well as soil and water conservation activities are being stepped up in the sub-zone, according to reports.

The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Abdu Mohammed Telke, called on farmers to employ modern farming techniques so as to boost their output.

Mr. Hamid Faid, in charge of economic development in the Northern Red Sea region, explained that the Eritrean government is giving top priority to irrigation farming as part of endeavors to boost agricultural output. He further called on the farming community to fully avail themselves of this policy.
