Members of the Central Council of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) conducted a visit to the Southern Red Sea region, during which they observe the on-going reconstruction programs and the rich marine resources in the region.

They also visited different islands, the Southern Denkalia sub-zone, the Harena boat building plant and the semi-urban center of Rahaita.

In the course of a visit from Assab to Halieb on boat, the NUEW Central Council members observed the spectacular sea coastline and the activities of the Harena boat building plant, where they received briefings from the pertinent heads. Moreover, they visited historical sites along the Eritrean-Djiboutian border. The Sultan of Rahaita, Derder Abdelkadir, gave them a briefing regarding the locality.

Expressing admiration to the major development programs being implemented to build a prosperous and strong nation, the members of the Council expressed appreciation for the warm welcome accorded.
