Mai-Libus

The newly implemented potable water and electricity supply projects in Mai-Libus, in the Adi-Mengoti administrative area, at a cost of about 1 million Nakfa have been inaugurated on January 26.

The projects implemented through the collaboration of the Mendefera sub-zone Administration, the local inhabitants and partners is expected to play a significant role in easing social service problems in the area.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Administrator of the Mendefera sub-zone, Mr. Andemariam Mihreteab, pointed out that the Government is giving top priority to the provision of potable water supply in remote areas of the country, and that tangible accomplishments have so far been registered.

Previously, the local inhabitants used to travel long distances to fetch water that was not clean, according to reports. Mai-Libus is located 7 km north-west of the town of Mendefera.
