Lagos — In a bid to assist its partners in Nigeria and Ghana achieve first class implementation results and best breed technology solutions, Microsoft has launched the Microsoft Partner University initiative in West Africa.
The one-week programme, according to a statement, will field 250 participants from over 50 Microsoft Partners in Nigeria and Ghana at the intensive training programme tagged: "Accelerate your Success."
The participants will be taken through an intensive six days series of hands on training, from world renowned experts who are experienced in delivering solutions within the market.
The instructions will combine hands on technical labs, and sales training based on actual customer case studies.
"The intent is to deepen the skills of our partners and drastically improve their competencies to enable them deliver great technology solutions in the market. The end result will be to further transform their businesses," said Mr. Idowu Afe, Partner Account Manager for Microsoft West Africa.
Speaking at the official opening of the Microsoft Partner University, the Country Manager for Microsoft West Africa, Mr. Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu stated that Microsoft partners represent a key success factor in the business environment. They play a crucial role in growing the local software economy, fostering innovation and building a strong technology base through technology transfer.
"The Partner University is a major step in the growth process, and we are delighted with the response of our partners to the university. We will be working more closely with the companies who have invested in sending their staff to the university to grow their competencies", he said.
Microsoft continues to demonstrate their deep commitment to working with its partners to foster IT innovation in Africa by encouraging partners to acquire new skills that will help them grow their businesses. This is the second Microsoft Partner University in Africa. The first which was held in Kenya attracted participants from all over East and Central Africa.
Other highlights of the Microsoft Partner University Programme will be networking sessions and a Gala/Heroes night to recognise and applaud spectacular IT professionals making a positive impact in the business environment.
