The Medical Director of Halibet Hospital, Dr. Beyene Tewolde stressed the vital role of religious leaders and communities in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Noting that the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with religious leaders, communities and national associations, carries out massive campaigns, he explained that the role of religious leaders has been quite significant. In this regard, Dr. Beyene pointed out that encouraging outcome has been registered at the national level as a result of the coordinated endeavors. He called on all concerned parties and the society at large to step up their contribution so as to score greater achievements.

Moreover, Dr. Beyene stated that people living with HIV/AIDS have acquired behavioral change and are leading a normal life following the counseling and care extended to them.
