NATIONAL Council of Sports (NCS) general secretary Jasper Aligawesa and his assistant Nicholas Muramagi have been getting full emolument during their four-month suspension and probe for office abuse.

The suspension ends today when they report back to duty after being cleared, but have been told to refund sh10m which they have failed to account for.

NCS chairman Anthony Katamba yesterday confirmed that the council has been fully paying the two officers during suspension.

"The suspension was an internal arrangement and they were fully being paid. We expect them to start working tomorrow (today) and we have briefed them of what we require from them," explained Katamba.

Katamba revealed that the two will now work under contract and they had duly been informed. He said the details will be availed to them at a later date when they are finally set.

"We gave Professor Kigongo Bukenya (the chairman of the audit and finance committee) the powers to look for a firm that will draw out the terms of reference," said Katamba. "They will be given to them even when they start working. They know this."
