Eritrea: NASAIR Plans to Introduce Airbus 300

The privately-owned NASAIR plans to introduce Air-Bus 300 as part of its program to expand its flight service, according to Mr. Berhane Mehari, manager of the company.

Stating that the main office of the company is in the port city of Massawa, he indicated that at present NASAIR carries out flight service through the Boeing 737 aircraft. The company also owns L10-11 cargo plane which has not yet arrived in Eritrea.

Mr. Berhane further explained that although there are ups and downs in the number of customers, the airline has nonetheless provided satisfactory service to a number of customers. He also lauded the Eritrean government's support to the company.

Presently, NASAIR has about 30 employees. Moreover, it has agents in Dubai, Jeddah, Sarja and Njamena, the manager added. Pointing out that NASAIR maintains cooperation with Eritrean Airlines, Mr. Berhane stated that the Company has applied to the Ministry of Transport and Communications for permission to expand flights to Cairo, Oman, Syria, Rome, London and Paris.
