A Qatari delegation that includes Health Advisor, Dr. Mohammed Al-Thani, and the Deputy Director of the country's School of Medicine, Dr. Mohammed Al-Tewil, conducted a working visit to Eritrea from February 3 to 5.

The delegation held a meeting with the Minister of Health, Mr. Saleh Meki, during which detailed briefings were given on the overall health situation in Eritrea and the ongoing endeavors to develop human resource capacity. The two sides also discussed possible cooperation programs aimed at backing up efforts to reinforce human resource development.

Noting the paramount importance of skilled manpower in the development of the health sector in Eritrea, both sides agreed to work jointly in this domain.

In the course of its tour in Asmara and other places, the Qatari delegation visited the Orotta Post Graduate School and College of Medicine, during which it received briefings on the School's activities. It also shared experience with the students.
