Massawa

President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks in Massawa with a Cuban delegation headed by the Director of the countries south of the Sahara in the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Ambassador George Evan Mora.

In the meeting, the Cuban official delivered a message of goodwill and prosperity from the Cuban leader Fidel Castro to President Isaias. The two sides also exchanged views on ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the domains of agriculture, health, sports and water resources.

Noting that although Eritrea and Cuba are far away in geographical location, President Isaias pointed out that the peoples of the two countries share similar experience, values and outlook. He also indicated that there exists conducive ground in Eritrea for Cuban experts to make significant contribution and share experience. The President further stated that Eritrean-Cuban relations focuses on mutual benefit.

Moreover, the delegation extended an invitation to President Isaias to pay a visit to Cuba.
