Maputo — The French government announced in Maputo on Thursday a donation worth 270,000 euros to support the victims of flooding that is currently afflicting the northern parts of Inhambane province, south of Mozambique, and some areas in the central provinces of Sofala and Zambezia.

The document formalizing the donation was signed by the French ambassador to Mozambique, Tierry Viteau, and by the secretary general of Mozambique Red Cross (CVM), Fernanda Teixeira.

The whole package includes 200 family tents, 500 cooking kits and 11,000 mosquito nets, as well logistic support for the CVM emergency operations.

The French government will also appoint a logistic representative from the French Red Cross, who will assist with distribution operations of that donation.
