Lubango — The governor of south Huíla province, Francisco José Ramos da Cruz Thursday here expressed satisfaction at the demining process underway for a year in the region, mainly in roads and railways.
This was expressed during a meeting that the local governor held with members of Executive Demining Commission, which gathered districts administrators and religious entities.
To Ramos da Cruz, the landmines clearing process has been a hard work and the experts have been showing a spirit of sacrifice and patriotism, with view to turn Angola into a landmines free country.
He pledged that the government will assist the brigades operating in the province on transport and health issues.
According to data released by the Executive Demining Commission, a total of 61, 640 explosive devices, which killed three technicians belonging to National Reconstruction Office (GRN), were deactivated in 2007 in the whole province.
