Massawa — President Isaias Afwerki today observed a show highlighting the activities of the National Cartography and Information Center that was staged as part of commemorative events of the 18th anniversary of Operation Fenkil and Massawa's liberation.
The President inspected cartographic work, pictorial displays and maps, during which he was briefed by experts. After giving vital information and advice, President Isaias encouraged youths who took part in the show for the efforts they are exerting.
The show depicts the reconstruction and modernization programs in Massawa, and preservation of national heritage, in addition to other domains of vital significance in the nation-building process.
The National Cartography and Information Center which was set up about two years strives to collect and process accurate information data, and thereby forward it to decision-making bodies, according to reports.
