Keren

His Holiness Abune Dioskoros, 4th Patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, stated that the cultural and spiritual makeup of the Eritrean people constitute the cornerstone of its unity and steadfastness. He made the remarks in a meeting with followers of the Christian faith in Keren and Hagaz towns on February 9.

Noting that long-standing acts of enemy quarters to divide Eritrea along religious lines have been rebuffed through the Eritrean people's steadfastness and unity, thus ultimately ensuring the nation's independence, the Patriarch asserted that the continued acts of conspiracy would as ever be rebuffed.

His Holiness Abune Dioskoros further explained that the Eritrean people managed to defeat their enemies thanks to their steadfastness and unity. He called on nationals inside the country and abroad to continue their contribution in support of families of fallen heroes. Moreover, the Patriarch called on the youth to live up to the nation's expectations and demonstrate outstanding performance in their education and work.
