Asmara — The Minister of Health, Mr. Saleh Meki, indicated that efforts are underway to open a "Save-Life Health Center" here in Eritrea. He made the statement yesterday in a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Arab Emirate Red Crescent Association, Dr. Saleh Mohammed Al-Tai. In the meeting, the two sides held discussion on ways of possible bilateral cooperation in the domain of health.
The center to be opened here would be the second of its kind in Africa after Egypt and that about 17 medical doctors and nurses from the UAE are already providing training to Eritrean health experts on heart treatment and other related topics, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Arefaine Berhe met Dr. Saleh Al-Tai, during which he gave briefings on the efforts Eritrea is exerting to achieve food security. Dr. Saleh Al-Tai also visited a micro-dam in Serejeka sub-zone.
