One person lost his life Friday, while two others sustained various degrees of injuries in an accident that occurred along the Abaji-Lokoja expressway.
The crash which happened close to Bulletin Construction Company's yard, involved a Peugeot saloon car with registration number EX355ABC.
An eye witness, Yakubu Dantani told City News that the car's tyres burst, which made the vehicle somersaulted twice.
He said one person died instantly while the remaining two passengers were rushed to the Abaji General Hospital by road safety officials.
The Abaji unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Mr. E.D Adebisi, while confirming the accident gave the name of one of the victims as Mr. Felix A.D, a staff of the presidency.
Our reporter also learnt that on the same road Sunday, three persons were killed, while seven others sustained injuries in an accident that involved a Peugeot saloon car with registration number AL 234 ENU and a Toyota Carina vehicle with registration 901 KKF. The accident occurred at Idu Village.
The FRSC Abaji unit commander also confirmed the accident and blamed the driver of the Peugeot car for overtaking dangerously.
He said the three dead bodies were immediately received by relatives of the victims at Aseni village and have been buried according to tradition.
The FRSC official said the police were present when the bodies were recovered by the victim's relatives.
He said seven other injured persons are at the Abaji General Hospital.
