A non-mining private sector 2007 growth of 6.8 percent is the highest ever recorded in the past 10 years in Botswana. This, according to Econsult managing director, Dr Keith Jefferies, who believes that this growth is attributed to the 12 percent increase in the textiles and apparels manufacturing sector exports to the United States through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
Jeffries was speaking Tuesday morning at the First National Bank Budget Breakfast seminar in Gaborone.
