Elaberead

The inhabitants of Yigar administrative area, Elaberead sub-zone, have now access to potable water supply thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Anseba regional administration, local inhabitants and partners.

Four water reservoirs have been constructed and two wells dug in the areas presently supplying sufficient water to the inhabitants of the locality along with their cattle. The newly implemented water supply projects are also playing significant role in facilitating irrigation farming in the adjacent area.

The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Gide Mebrahtu, indicated that previously the local inhabitants used to face acute water supply problems. He also noted that there are plans to construct additional reservoir in the Guba-Raki administrative area.
