The leader of the Movement for the Security and the Development, Mr Alexis Sinduhije, demanded the government to dismantle its militia. Today, the leader of MSD held a press conference in which he expressed his view over the violence that continues to shake Burundi on a daily basis.
The leader of MSD affirms that he has enough information over the existence of a pro-government militia and is ready cooperate with the judicial system in a bid to dismantle it. â-šWe know that there is a militia in Kamenge, we know that there is a militia in Kinama. We also know those who compose them, what they said in their meetings. What has been promised to them," said Alexis Sinduhije.
The Police force and the ruling party have repeatedly ruled out the existence of this militia without convincing opposition parties which hold that the ruling party has set up this militia whose aim is to intimidate the population and kill political opponents before the 2010 elections.
Today, the chief editor of the RPA radio station, Eric Manirakiza, appeared before the substitute of the prosecutor in the mayorship of Bujumbura after the chief of staff at the office of the President of Republic, Melchior Wagara lodged a charge against him. The hearing did not take place as the lawyer of Manirakiza was not ready. Melchior Wagara is allegedly cited in the setup of the pro-government militia.
