EXPRESS are set for what coach Jimmy Muguwa believes will be an emphatic return to continental soccer.

"Everything is in place for victory," promised Muguwa, who led the Red Eagles to the semi-finals of the same competition in 1995.

Muguwa's insistence that Burundi's Inter Stars will crack stems days of structuring a formula to disable the opponents' fast inter-passing game.

"We are going to close them out. But top on our agenda will be to attack. We should comfortably get to the return leg," said the 1978 Africa Nations Cup silver medalist.

Save for Morley Byekwaso and Phillip Ssozi, the rest of Muguwa's players will be making an international debut.

Muguwa is not shaken by the inexperience. He instead sees this lack of exposure yielding results because of what he describes as an intense urge by the young side to impress on the big stage.

Right wing dribbler Hamza Ssemwogerere together with the immensely experienced duo of Byekwaso and Ssozi will be the men Muguwa will rely on upfront.

He will have little worries about what should be a rock solid defence manned by towering goalkeeper Abbey Dhaira.

As the hosts beamed with confidence, Inter Stars, who lead Burundi's league, were cagey.

One official was rebuked by colleagues for talking to the press as the team felt Nakivubo yesterday.

The visitors, who have a strong presence on the central African state's national side, will also be propped by vast experience on the continent.

Express line-up - A. Dhaira, A. Kisalita, M. Pichou, G. Kavulu, U. Hitimana, C. Katamba, H. Ssemwogerere, M. Byekwaso, I. Bwire, A. Mubiru, P. Ssozi.

+Phillip Corry reports that Cranes custodian Denis Onyango made up for an early blunder to score a long ranger and seal three points for Super Sport as they romped to a 3-1 over Black Leopards Wednesday night in the ABSA Premier League.

In other PSL games, David Obua put up a sterling performance but his efforts failed to pay dividends losing 1-0 to Thanda Royal Zulu.

Geoffrey Massa didn't feature for Jomo Cosmos as they lost to University side Wits 2-0. The Cranes striker is nursing an injury. Posnet Omwony, and Timothy Batabaire were on the receiving end as Bloemfontein Celtic lost 3-1 to league leaders Ajax Cape Town.
