Tessenei — His Holiness Abune Dioskoros, 4th Patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, said that the Eritrean people are exemplary in their religious values considering the fact that they have managed to overcome numerous challenges without entertaining any differences on the basis of ethnic and religious grounds. The Patriarch made the remarks in a message he conveyed to the public in the town of Tessenei.
Stressing the need to preserve the people's harmony and intermingling that constitute Eritrea's greatest blessing, His Holiness Abune Dioskoros called on religious leaders to work diligently to reinforce these cherished values. He further reminded the people to endure temporary challenges through keeping intact the long-standing noble culture of coexistance in harmony and mutual cooperation. In this connection, the Patriarch called on religious leaders to live up to expectations.
Also speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of the Tessenei sub-zone, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebreweld, expressed appreciation to the Patriarch for visiting remote areas and conveying spiritual messages that reinforce the people's unity and harmony.
Reports indicated that His Holiness Abune Dioskoros, accompanied by bishops from Gash-Barka and the Central regions, conducted visits in different parts of Gash-Barka region, during which he was accorded warm welcome by the local inhabitants.
