Nigeria: NDLEA Nabs 14 Suspected Drug Dealers

Bauchi — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), has arrested 14 suspected drug dealers, seizing over 400kg of Indian hemp in Bauchi State.

Parading the suspects yesterday, the state commandant, NDLEA, Mr. Sule Momodu said that the arrest followed series of raids on the victims' hideouts with over 400 kilogrammes of Cannabis.

Momodu said that preliminary investigations showed that the suspects had been involved in the illegal business for years, adding that they would soon be charged to court.

He further said that one of the suspects was earlier arrested and charged to court in 2002, but jumped bail.

"The wanted suspect was earlier arrested by men of the command and charged to court in 2002, but he jumped bail and continued with his nefarious business," Momodu said.

He however, disclosed that the command had launched a manhunt for a notorious drug peddler known as "Danyaro Action" for alleged drug trafficking in the state.
