An 11 man delegation of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) yesterday left Abuja for Mauritius to feature in next week's Thomas Uber Cup and 2008 Mauritius International Champion-ship, both Olympic qualifiers.

BFN secretary, Olumide Bamiduro said in Abuja that the team would leave aboard a South African airline to Johannesburg.

Olumide said the team comprising eight players (five male and three female) and three accompanying officials would connect a flight to Mauritius from South Africa.

He gave the names of the male players as Orobosa Okonghae, Ibrahim Adamu, Jinkam Bulus, Akeem Ogunseye and Ola Fagbemi; while the females are: Grace Daniel, Susan Ideh and Imade Oribabor.

He said aside from the Thomas Uber Cup, Nigeria will also feature in the Mauritius International Tournament at the end of the month.

"Both events are qualifiers for the 2008 Beijing Olympic in China and we are poised to make Nigeria proud by excelling at the championships" Olumide said.
