Zimbabwe: Deputy Sheriff Called in As Anglican Saga Rages on

Harare — The Deputy Sheriff yesterday used force to open a gate at the Anglican Cathedral of St Mary and All Saints to allow worshippers aligned to Bishop Sebastian Bakare to enter the church for their Sunday service.

He used a bolt cutter to break in after followers from the rival Bishop Nolbert Kunonga camp had barred Bishop Bakare's supporters from conducting their service. Two weeks ago the High Court ruled that the two feuding parishioners should share the church and conduct services separately while the court determines which camp should be given control of the church's assets.
