Nigeria: Bauchi Gets N10bn Loan to Improve Health Facilities

Bauchi — Bauchi State government has concluded plans to secure a N10 billion loan from a commercial bank in the state to enable it execute certain developmental projects.

Special adviser to the state governor on information,Alhaji Mukhtar Abdu Magas revealed this recently while briefing newsmen at the end of their state executive council meeting at the government house, Bauchi.

He said the loan when finally obtained would be used to finance some meaningful projects earmarked for execution as contained in this year's budget. He explained that the amount will cover projects in health, education and rural development as well as youth empowerment to improve the living standard of the people of the state.

Magas noted that already a bill in that direction seeking the approval of the state legislature to obtain the important loan had been sent to the state House of Assembly.

The special adviser added that the state executive council had also approved the distribution of over N98million to over 4500 women groups across the state as short term loan to economically empower them.

Similarly, Magas announced the approval for the acquisition of a private clinic in Darazo local government,Nasiha medical center, at the cost of about N29million to serve as an annex to the Darazo general hospital in the area.
