Arusha — The government should organize a grand trade fair at the Nane Nane grounds to run in sync with the Leon Sullivan Summit slated for June this year.
Mr. Urassa, Chairman of the Tanzania Agricultural Society (TASO) Northern Zone, told reporters that the nation could benefit tremendously if the more than 3,000 delegates to the summit are exposed to what is produced in the country and existing trade opportunities.
He said the 114 acre show grounds have 500 exhibition stalls in place that could be utilized for the benefit of Tanzanian entrepreneurs as well as the visiting business people.
Urassa said already he had requests from about 1,000 companies from Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda indicating their wish to participate in a trade fair that coincides with the Sullivan Summit.
The Leon H. Sullivan Summits bring together the world's political and business leaders, delegates representing national and international civil and multinational organizations, and members of academic institutions in order to focus attention and resources on Africa's economic and social development.
Their mission was inspired by Rev. Leon H. Sullivan's belief that the development of Africa is a matter of global partnerships.
