Nigeria: Anxiety Over Obong of Calabar's Health

Calabar — Anxiety has gripped residents of Cross River State capital, Calabar, and its environ, following fears about the state of health of Edidem Nta Elijah Henshaw VI, the Obong of Calabar.

The Obong has not appeared in public in recent times. Indeed, his last public function was the celebrations marking the sixth anniversary of his coronation in December, when he honoured some prominent politicians and businessmen with traditional titles. When THISDAY visited his private residence at New Airport Road, Calabar, the place was quiet, while no one was allowed entry.
