Bafoussam (Mifi) — The Economic Adviser in the West Governor's office Mr. Victor Souob has inaugurated the newly acquired ultra modern equipment for the dental department of the Bafoussam provincial hospital. The equipment that included, radiographic dental machine, dental X-Ray machine, compress dental machine, micro denture machine, and a dental film developer machine, is estimated at CFA 37.000.000.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place last month at the dental department of the hospital, was attended by the provincial controller of finance, the delegate of economy, planning and regional development and the head of the dental department of the provincial hospital Dr. Soukoudjou.
Presiding at the inaugural and signing ceremony, the economic adviser at the West governor explained the importance of such equipment in a hospital like the Bafoussam provincial hospital, and urged the staff of the dental department, headed by Dr. Souokoudjou to make proper and maximum use of the equipment
While describing health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not just the absence of diseases or infirmity, Mr. Souop thanked the director of the hospital Dr. Bernard Cheumega for his health strategies and actions to provide the equipment for the dental department. He expressed the wish to see the new equipment provide access to dental patients and called on the population of the province to fully exploit the new advantages at their disposal.
On his part the director of the hospital Dr. Cheamega said his priority has been to improve on the hygiene and sanitation of the population, adding that after taking over as director of the Bafoussam provincial hospital, he found it very urgent to improve on the health capacity, which he said has been receiving gradual expansion with the gradual purchase of equipment.
He expressed satisfaction to the massive response from the population. Dr. Cheamega revealed that almost all the branches of speciality has an expert. He said the acquisition of the new equipment will tremendously reduce dental problems in the hospital, adding further that patients will not have to travel far distances for tooth problems.
