Liberia: Big Gospel Musical Concert Sunday

A free Gospel Musical Concert is expected to take place at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex on Sunday, February 24, 2008.

The concert, which is being organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism(MICAT), the Truth and Reconciliation Commission(TRC), UNMIL, Ecobank and Bellview Airlines, is expected to bring thousands of Liberians together to help foster the reconciliation process.

The concert will feature Princess Pitman, Evans Nat Kamara, the New Life Mission Choir and Moses Swaray.

According to the organizers, others due to thrill the audience are the Philadelphia Mass Choir, Pastor Paul Berry, the Little White Chapel Choir, the Faith Healing Temple Mass Choir, Monrovia Community Mass Choir and prolific gospel artist Kanvee Gaines Adams.

Other gospel artists slated to entertain and minister to the audience include Ophelia Dawolo, Milicent Rhodes of Sierra Leone, Nicholas Togba, the group Vow to Praise, Jerrilyn Mulbah, the Kings' Jubilee, a Liberian group in Ghana, Divine singer, John Sheriff and the renowned Ambassador Marron Cassell. The concert dubbed "We Are One" is expected to begin at 5p.m. on Sunday.

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf; the Special Representative of the Secretary General, Ellen Loj; Information Minister, Dr. Laurence Bropleh; T R C Chairman, Cllr. Jerome Verdier and other distinguished invited guests are expected to grace the occasion.
