Asmara — The five-day cross-country workshop on the evaluation of the impact of malaria and HIV/AIDS in Asmara concluded today. The workshop focused on the exchange of experience as regards to tackling malaria and HIV/AIDS.
The participants conducted visits in four groups to health institutions in Ginda, Asmara, Keren and Mendefera, during which they received briefings by Eritrean health professionals. They expressed conviction that the workshop would play a significant role in combating malaria and HIV/AIDS in the African continent.
Furthermore, a number of workshop participants lauded the achievements Eritrea has registered in promoting health services across the country on the basis of internal resources.
One of the participants, Mr. Mandjo Jean Lanibert from DR Congo, said that contrary to the negative foreign media reports focusing on war about Eritrea, there prevails peace and stability in the country.
Representatives from Eritrea, Kenya, Benin, DR Congo, Ghana, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Zambia and South Sudan attended the workshop.
