Luanda — Experts of the Aviation Security Committee of the European Union (UE) concluded on Friday, here, an inspection at the Angolan Airlines (TAAG), after having analysed the correctional plan carried out by the firm to overcome irregularities that hindered it firm flying over the European space.
At the meeting, which was also attended by representatives of the National Civil Aviation Institute (INAVIC), the parties approved the conclusions of issues discussed during the three-day meeting, in which the experts acknowledged the progresses registered at the Angolan Airlines, and made some recommendations to improve the services, ANGOP learnt from an official source.
TAAG will continue working towards understanding the correct final version of the manuals and other documents, so as to adapt its services to the EU regulations and demands, as well as removing from the known "black list" of companies banned from flying to Europe, according to the interdiction of the Civil Aviation Committee adopted in 06 July 2007.
However, he added, some aspects have already been improved during to IOSA auditing at the company late 2007, since the referred inspection aimed at adjusting its functioning to the operational regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
According to an Angolan source that attended the meeting, the EU experts are pleased with the improvements and changes that the national airlines introduced in its services, to achieve the quality of its flying operation, as well as the services granted to consumers.
Meeting since Monday, the parties analysed, on "closed doors" in one of the meeting halls of the Maintenance and Engineering Department of TAAG at the airport, the correctional plan carried out by TAAG, as from the updating thee flight charters, instruction and maintenance manuals, systems of security, of quality and auditing of IOSA, as well as observed some "slides" bearing data relating to the improvements being made by the airlines.
The results of the Luanda meeting shall be presented during the first quarter of April 2008, an occasion in which the Civil Aviation Committee of EU will convene in Brussels, to decide whether TAAG might already fly to Europe.
The delegation of European experts, composed by three French entities, same number of Portuguese, an Italian and a Spanish, end their mission to the country on February 23, on their way to Brussels (Belgium).
