Massawa

Eritrean mothers who used to live in Italy conducted a visit to the Northern Red Sea region to observe development programs being implemented there within the framework of Warsay-Yikaalo Development Campaign.

In the course of the visit, the mothers toured the Dahlak and Desie Islands, during which they observed the culture and traditions of the inhabitants, as well as the implementation of national reconstruction programs. Expressing of their satisfaction with the on-going development endeavors, they donated 32,000 Nakfa to the EDF members engaged in the undertaking.

Moreover, the mothers visited the construction of housing complexes in Massawa which are aimed at alleviating residential house problems in the port city.

The Commander of Staff of the Eritrean Naval Force, Brig. General Futsum Gebrehiwet, commended the active role and due contribution of Eritrean mothers in the days of the armed struggle for independence and in safeguarding national sovereignty.
