Judges for this year's Hip Hop world awards will have a Herculean task deciding who goes home as Artiste of the year.
The list of nominees, made available to Glitz Beats reveals 2face Idibia, Psquare, D'Banj and Olu contending for the prize. All best-sellers, and crowd pullers in their respective right, all four acts will slug it out, as they compete for fans' and judges' votes.
The list of nominees, in 17 categories, reveals that there's been immense creative activity in the scene since 2006.
That's why a lot of heavyweights are pitched against each other; in several categories- take for example, HipHopWorld revelation, where Asa, TY Bello, Olu Maintain, 9ice and Sasha are up for nomination.
'It's usually a difficult time, selecting winners out of loads of talents, but it'll even be tougher this year', says one of the judges who craves anonymity. 'Nigerian music is getting better, and between 2006 and now, it's unbelievable how much excellent music these acts have made.'
