Tunis — Korea 's electronic giant, LG, has chosen Tunisia to host its marketing conference on information and communication technologies for the Middle East and North Africa .
The company's representatives for those countries, as well as its headquarter executives are to discuss new strategies to promote ICT's and namely computers, monitors, data stocking units and the launch of its latest range of technological products. The conference will take place on February 20 and 21, 2008.
The choice of Tunisia to host this major event is seen by observers as a recognition of Tunisia's pioneering role in promoting ICT's, for successfully holding the World Summit for the Information Society (WSIS) in 2005, and other large major international events.
Tunisia has also already hosted the LG football Cup in 1997 and 2006, as well as the LG music Festival in 2005 and 2006.
The company is recording increased performances on its ICT product segment, especially insofar as monitors are concerned. On the Tunisian market, LG comes in second place and in Libya it is first. The company is also showing a strong growth of its lap top computer industry.
