The Chess Zonal coordinator and 1st Vice President of Nigeria Chess Federation (NCF) Mr. Lekan Adeyemi, disclosed yesterday that all states, chess clubs and schools in the country are eligible to participate in the programme that will end on Friday.

"We have been on the programme for over three months along with the Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Peter Nelson, who has been of immense assistance to the project. Same with the President of NCF, ACP Sani Mohammed and the whole process is designed to groom more technical officials and at the same time prepare chess players for several national and international tournaments coming up later in the year," he noted.

According to the programme made available to THISDAYSports, each state, club or institution is eligible to present six male and female players with a team captain while institutions with more entries are allowed to field as many as possible.
